May and June are popular months, while September and October can offer pleasant weather and clearer mountain views.
The monsoon season can bring heavy rainfall, landslides and road disruptions, so travellers should check current conditions before departure.

Do Dham Yatra Difficulty

The overall journey is moderate, but the Kedarnath section makes it physically demanding. The road journey towards Badrinath does not require a long trek, while Kedarnath involves a high-altitude trek from Gaurikund. Travellers should prepare physically, particularly if they are not accustomed to walking long distances.

How to Reach Do Dham

Most Do Dham journeys begin from Haridwar or Rishikesh.

Haridwar and Rishikesh are well connected by road and rail.

From there, the journey continues through the Garhwal Himalayas by road.

For Kedarnath, vehicles generally travel up to Gaurikund, after which pilgrims continue towards the temple through the designated route.

Badrinath is accessible by road.
